Pembicaraan lanjutan tersebut dilakukan di Jerez, Spanyol, bersamaan dengan uji coba terakhir pra-musim 2009, Sabtu (28/3).<br /><br />Dalam kesempatan itu, pihak Dorna (perusahaan pemegang hak komersial untuk MotoGP) dan FIM (Federasi motor internasional) bertemu. CEO Dorna Carmelo Ezpetela dan Presiden FIM Vito Ippolito mengadakan pembicaraan lanjutan untuk menyelamatkan MotoGP dari krisis global--khususnya untuk musim 2009 dan 2010.<br /><br />Enam peraturan yang telah dibuat untuk menekan biaya di antaranya adalah: meniadakan uji coba hari Jumat pagi serta memangkasnya menjadi tiga uji coba berdurasi 45 menit--sebelumnya satu jam--, hanya menggunakan 5 mesin dalam 8 balapan terakhir, larangan menggunakan suspensi elektronik dan hanya ada dua uji coba selama musim balapan berlangsung.<br /><br />Nah, untuk musim 2010 ada beberapa peraturan tambahan--plus update aturan musim 2009. Misalnya saat ingin melakukan engine brake.<br /><br />Padahal, pada mobil matik engine braking tetap dapat digunakan. Pemanfaatan engine braking yang dapat membantu menghemat kanvas rem bisa diperoleh dengan melakukan pemindahan tuas transmisi ke posisi transmisi yang lebih rendah (downshift).<br /><br />Ada beberapa cara untuk melakukan engine brake menggunakan mobil matik. Setelah menginjak pedal rem dan kecepatan mobil berkurang, geserlah tuas transmisi dari posisi D (DRIVE) ke:<br /><span class="fullpost"><br />1. Ke posisi "3", atau OFF-kan fungsi OVERDRIVE/OD pada transmisi yang masih menggunakan OVERDRIVE manual (dengan cara menekan tombol O/D yang terdapat pada tuas transmisi). Transmisi akan turun ke posisi roda gigi ketiga dan tidak akan bisa pindah ke roda gigi ke empat.<br /><br />2. Pindah lagi ke posisi "2". Transmisi akan turun ke roda gigi kedua saat kecepatan kendaraan turun dengan cepat ke kecepatan di bawah 90-80 km/jam. Penggeseran ini membuat efek engine braking lebih kuat.<br /><br />3. Pindah ke posisi "L". Transmisi akan turun ke roda gigi pertama saat kecepatan kendaraan turun dengan cepat ke kecepatan di bawah 40-30 km/jam. Di posisi ini engine braking didapat secara maksimum.<br /><br />Lakukan ketiga hal diatas secara berurutan dari yang paling tinggi ke roda gigi yang paling rendah. Prinsipnya mirip dengan transmisi manual, engine braking diperoleh dengan melakukan perpindahan ke transmisi yang lebih rendah. Angka kecepatan yang disebutkan di atas harus disesuaikan pada masing-masing kendaraan.<br /><br />Memang, dengan perpindahan ini maka laju mobil agak terasa tersentak. Ini tanda engine braking bekerja. Sentakan tersebut dapat semakin kita kurangi dengan memperhatikan kecepatan mobil saat melakukan perpindahan posisi tuas transmisi.<br /><br />Untuk kondisi jalan pada di medan yang menanjak atau menurun, engine braking bisa kita dapatkan tanpa harus memindah posisi tuas transmisi seperti diatas. Caranya adalah dengan menjalankan kendaraan dengan posisi tuas transmisi pada posisi "2". Posisi ini membuat transmisi tidak bisa berpindah dari posisi "2" ke gigi yang lebih tinggi dan efek engine braking pada saat kita mengurangi tekanan pedal gas akan lebih besar.<br /><br />Atau bisa juga menggunakan posisi "L" saat posisi kendaraan berhadapan dengan jalan yang menanjak atau menurun curam (misalnya, di basement gedung). Pada posisi ini, gigi percepatan hanya dapat bergerak pada posisi roda gigi 1 saja.<br /><br />Tetapi, posisi "2" atau "L" sebaiknya tidak digunakan dalam waktu yang lama. Kalau sudah berada di jalan datar, segera pindahkan transmisi ke posisi "D". Ternyata tanda-tanda kerusakan mobil bisa ditemukan dari munculnya bunyi-bunyi yang tidak normal.<br /><span class="fullpost"><br />Nah, apa sajakah bunyi-bunyi tersebut? Berikut ini daftarnya:<br /><br />1. Suara dengung di mesin<br />Periksa van belt, mungkin terlalu kencang. Efek bila didiamkan saja komponen ini bisa putus yang memicu tidak bekerjanya water pump dan alternator (dinamo ampere) yangÃÂ dapat mengakibatkan mesin overheating maupun batere (aki) tidak mendapat pengisian arus yang nantinya akan membuat kendaraan menjadi mogok. Kondisi van belt yang abnormal (terlalu kendor) juga bisa menimbulkan bunyi lain, yaitu bunyi mencicit. Efek buruknya sama dengan van belt terlalu kencang.<br /><br />2. Suara dengung di roda<br />Biasanya terjadi saat mobil diajak lari dengan kecepatan tinggi (di atas 40 km/jam). Periksa bagian kaki-kaki, terutama bearing roda dan roda-rodanya. Bila suara terdengar dari depan, berarti pemeriksaan harus dilakukan di roda-roda depan. Mungkin saja bearing roda sudah aus, atau permukaan roda-roda sudah tidak rata. Memang tidak terlalu berdampak ke bagian lain, tetapi suara ini cukup mengganggu kenyamanan.<br /><br />3. Suara berisik seperti logam bertubrukan di bagian depan<br />Terutama ketika melewati permukaan jalan yang rusak (berlubang). Periksa bagian kaki-kaki, terutama tierod dan end rod. Kemungkinan komponen ini sudah aus (tidak presisi lagi) sehingga menimbulkan bunyi saat beroperasi.<br /><br />4. Suara kasar di mesin saat AC dihidupkan<br />Periksa kompresor AC, kemungkinan ada bearing kompresor AC yang rusak atau oli kompresor bermasalah (ada kebocoran). Jika dibiarkan akan membuat kerusakan pada kompresor itu sendiri.<br /><br />5. Suara kasar seperti dua logam berbenturan<br />Terutama ketika gas kita hentak. Artinya, pengemudi harus memelihara jarak antara kendaraannya dengan kendaraan didepannya sejauh hitungan tiga detik.<br /><br />Waktu tiga detik ini dengan asumsi bahwa manusia dalam bereaksi membutuhkan waktu sekitar satu detik. Ditambah dengan waktu reaksi mekanis kendaraan saat sistem rem mulai bekerja ketika pengereman, yang diperlukan waktu sekitar satu detik. Kemudian ditambah lagi '<em>safety factor</em>' satu detik. Jadi total waktu reaksi yang diperlukan paling tidak tiga detik.<br /><br />Lalu bagaimana cara menghitungnya? Gunakan patokan benda statis ditepi jalan, misalnya pohon atau tiang. Ketika mobil didepan Anda melewati benda atau patokan tersebut, hitunglah berapa lama waktu yang dibutuhkan mobil Anda untuk sampai ke titik patokan yang telah ditentukan itu.<br /><br />Cara hitungnya dengan mengucapkan: "seribu dan satu, seribu dan dua, seribu dan tiga, dan seterusnya". Jika mobil anda sampai pada titik patokan yang telah ditentukan itu dalam kurang dari hitungan seribu dan tiga, berarti jarak mobil Anda terlalu dekat dengan kendaraan didepannya.<br /><br />Hal ini sangat berisiko tinggi bila kendaraan di depan Anda melakukan pengereman mendadak. Saat kondisi cuaca dan jalan kurang ideal, misalnya hujan atau kabut, tambahlah hitungan menjadi sekitar empat hingga enam detik (seribu dan empat sampai seribu dan enam).<br /><br />Jadi mulai sekarang, jagalah jarak aman mengemudi Anda dengan kendaraan lain untuk menghindari hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan. Namun pembagian beban bersama ini tidak mungkin dilakukan sepanjang tahun. "Ini sudah kita lakukan, tapi sifatnya hanya situasional." ujar Joko.<br /><br />Joko juga mencontohkan adanya pelemahan nilai tukar rupiah terhadap dolar Amerika hingga 25 persen akan menyebabkan kenaikan harga mobil dengan persentase yang sama. "Kenaikan harga tetap kita lakukan, tetapi bertahap tiap bulan, sehingga margin beban yang ada kita tanggung dulu," paparnya.<br /><br />Lebih lanjut Joko juga menambahkan, jika pembagian beban ini terus dilakukan malah justru membuat industri automotif makin tertekan. Hal terpenting menurutnya, adalah menjaga pasokan mobil ke dealer tetap seimbang. "Tetap akan ada penyesuaian di produksi.
